There is a certain joy to wearing something unique and out of the ordinary, I recently shot a look in thisChirag Nainani that undoubtedly ticked all those boxes for me.
It’s a maxi shirt dress, in this cotton silk fabric. I felt like this piece was so versatile because you could wear it to a day out, a brunch party, dinner or even when you were travelling. As a ready to wear outfit it would make heads turn and the comfort you would feel in it is a new level. I wore it for my shoot and pretty much the whole day after while I met up with a few friends for coffee later in the evening and was at home editing some pictures.
I love the draped layers it has and most importantly the indigo dyed print. Which you have to agree is the most prominent thing about this garment as well as this collection, that is full of gorgeous silhouettes hand painted or dyed in indigo.
Just over a month ago I flew up to Chang Mai one of the northern cities in Thailand. We spent four days learning and experimenting with natural dying, one of them being indigo. We did come up with some beautiful fabric swatches and seeing a whole line in indigo is amazing!
I styled the outfit with a waist brown leather belt I borrowed from my sister, a nail ring from Minerali, handcuff from H&M and finished off with these wooden platform shoes from Clarks.
